This is a new program that will start this summer here at the Phoenix. C.I.T. is a counselor in training program designed for high school aged students in grades 9th to 11th to take camper leadership to the next level. This will serve as the bridge for campers as they learn all about what is needed to eventually become a counselor in the future. Our program offers qualified young people an opportunity to prepare for positions as camp counselors upon high school graduation. The program this summer will run for 4 weeks with an opportunity to sign up for Coyote Camp to wrap up the summer. It will entail daily and weekly projects, training in topics involving leadership, communication, motivation, team building, and camp community.
The cost for each week of C.I.T. is $155.00 and if they attend Coyote Camp the cost will be $225.00 for the week.
Note that a C.I.T. is NOT a counselor and as such would never work with the campers without staff present nor are they in the supervision ratios.
…Spencer adored Coyote Camp last year and he will be attending both camps this year. I loved that pictures were posted on Facebook each evening for all of us parents to enjoy. He was well taken care of and again, all of the staff have a vested interest in all of the campers. As a parent, that is very reassuring to me.
I love camp because of how enthusiastic and crazy the campers and counselors get for camp activities
I love camp because I get to do things I don’t normally get to do
My kids are smiling and ACTIVE!!!!
